Sick baby
So our little Addi is sick for the first time. She's been a little congested but nothing to write home about. Sunday she had a dry cough that turned into a nasty congested cough and she didn't sleep well Sunday night - I'm guessing she couldn't breath that well. Although she didn't have a fever, we took her into the doctor this morning and she has some fluid on her ears and an infection in her sinuses. They gave us some medicine. As the day went on it got progressively worse and I just felt so bad for her. She just slept all afternoon (on us) and was sniffling and coughing. Even when she tried to babble or talk, it sounded so pitiful because she is so congested. Hopefully, her meds will kick in soon so she will start to feel better.

Last night Addi had a fever of 101.2 (after Tylenol). We called the on-call nurse and she walked us through some things to do and told us to keep a close eye on her. We were up checking on her pretty much on the hour. She seems to have slept better. This morning around 7:00 her fever had gone down to 100.8 (before Tylenol). Then at 9:30 99.6 (after Tylenol). So it is slowly going down. They want us to bring her in tomorrow if she has a fever over 100.5. Its all I can do to keep from crying. She just doesn't understand why she feels so bad and whimpers and it just breaks my heart.
ReplyDeletepoor thing- cutting teeth and fever! keep us posted on how she's doing. little dana says "feel better soon, addi!" or "ba ba ma da." something like that.
ReplyDeleteWent to the doctor this morning. She has developed an ear infection since Monday. Her doctor switched her antibiotic so hopefully that will help. Her fever is lower than it was sitting around 100. Scott and I both had ear infections as children so she just may be prone to them -not sure. She isn't eating great so I am still feeding her very frequently hoping to get more fluids in her.
