We don't go to the doctor until next week to determine Addison's height, weight, etc so I will edit next week and add her stats. Check back after the 11th.
Addison is a chatterbox. She get's shy around people, but when there are only a couple of people around she usually let's her personality shine. She talks all the time although we can only understand some of it. She will have a 10+ minute conversation with you as long as you respond. Scott and I have been trying to count the number of words and signs she has since her doctor will probably ask, but we keep losing count! She has at least 30 words and over 40 signs and can repeat most things we say and picks up new signs daily so these numbers keep going up. Since we've been home from SC, she has added new signs (e.g. car, apple) and words (e.g. apple, oh wow!, eat, grandma). "Oh wow!" is one of her favorite new phrases. When the balls pop out of the toy Aunt Liz and family got her she exclaims, "oh wow!" When she turns the light on the glow seahorse, she exclaims, "oh wow!" I could go on and on- it is so cute! She signs "potty" every time she sees a toilet, although she isn't close to potty training. She is laughing at everything and does all kinds of silly things to make herself laugh. She now LOVES baths and hates getting out of them. Dogs are her favorite animal, although she loves all animals. She still loves bananas (we have to hide them!) and cheese, but also really likes green beans, grits, avocado, yogurt, and apples. She still doesn't really like meat (except chicken), potatoes, noodles, or pizza, although she will occasionally eat roasted potatoes and ham and pineapple pizza.
This week Addison will be moving up to the 18 month room at her school. They have an infant room, a crawler room, an early 1 year room, a late 1 year room (the 18 month room), an early 2s, and late 2s and so on. This is one thing that I really like about this school especially since children are developmentally different at these ages.
I can't believe my little Poppy is 18 months old. We are so blessed.
